Beautiful Buffet
This vintage buffet has been refinished in a soft warm white chalk paint. The paint is coated with a wax sealer for protection. The solid oak top has been stripped and refinished in a medium walnut colour and is coated with a polyacrylic for extra protection. The piece is very functional with 3 drawers and 2 side cabinets. All of the beautiful hardware is original to the buffet.

I first discovered my love for refinishing furniture after I purchased this antique piece for myself - it is beautiful and rustic and goes perfectly in our farmhouse setting. It's an original antique; I know this because my husband pointed out the square handmade nails! Although I still can't decide if the paint is original or if it was painted at a later date.
This made me wonder if I could recreate this look on outdated pieces of furniture and give them a new lease on life. So, I started collecting interesting pieces and my joy of painting grew. Now I paint in all different kinds of styles and colours. To me it is all about being unique, it's about having something in your home that no one else has. I see beauty in the old furniture, they are different to what is manufactured today. Even though the pieces have been loved before, they can be brought back to life for someone new to love and use again.
I hope that people enjoy my pieces in their homes as much as I enjoy creating them.
